Midi-Pyrenees News : Fresh snow forecast for the Pyrenees this weekend
Fresh snow is forecast for the Pyrenees Mountains this weekend, bringing relief to the many ski resorts just before the busy holiday season begins.
Early snow in November and December, gave a strong enough base that the slopes have managed to remain open, despite any really good snowfalls since early January. With the winter school holidays about to begin, the fresh falls could not have come at a better time.
Although the amount of snow forecast is nowhere near the levels being experienced in parts of the Alps, good skiing is available in the Pyrenees, from beginner friendly resorts to the larger areas such as Bareges / La Mongie / Tourmalet offering skiing for all levels.
For the latest ski conditions in the Alps, take a look at the Guide2 Rhone-Alpes ski reports.
