Don’t lose your UK pension or benefits payments in France
British Expats across the world are being warned that they may need to take action to avoid losing out on their pension and benefit payments from the UK.
Any British Expats receiving payments from the UK will need to make sure that the Department for Work and Pensions has an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and a Bank Identification Code (BIC) for the bank account that is receiving the payments.
The department should be contacting everyone to confirm the details and they need them well before the cut-off date of 31st January 2014 to ensure that payments are not missed. The change has been forced by European Union regulation changes that are designed to make payments within the EU countries faster.
In most cases, the Department for Work and Pensions will already have the details it requires, but where the details are missing, Expats should receive a letter asking for them. Complete the detachable form and return it to the DWP as soon as possible to make sure your payments do not stop.
