Christmas is a great time for getting out and about in the local community and meeting your neighbours at the village Marche de Noel.

There is a strong tradition of holding Christmas Markets in the Midi-Pyrenees, with almost every village having an event of some sort even if it is just a couple of tables in the Salle de Fetes.  It is often followed by a meal and sometimes a party as well.

Of course, there are larger, more commercial Markets as well and that is what is listed here.  On Guide2MidiPyrenees, we have listed a large number of the small markets, but with so many it is difficult to find them all.  If you know of a market and would like it publicised, please contact us at editor@guide2midipyrenees.com.

The most well known marketin the region is in the  Place du Capitole, Toulouse.  This is now in its sixth year and will feature over one hundred and thirty wooden chalets offering arts and crafts, decorations, gifts and food.  The market runs for several weeks from 4^th to 27^th December.

Castres also hosts a large market, from 11^th to 27^th December and along with the range of market stalls has various other attractions.  The market in Villefranche de Rouerque is open from 12^th to 24^th December with Pere Noel in attendance in the Place Notre Dame.

Pamiers has a long running market, opening on 12^th December until 26^th December, while the market in Auch runs from the 18^th to 21^st December.

One special market being held at Domaine de Lauroux on the 21^st November is in aid of Cancer Support France-Gascony.  This is well worth supporting, so please go along.

Many of the markets are held in pretty village squares giving the perfect excuse to vist some of the bastides and Plus Beaux Villages des France as well as shopping for Christmas gifts and decorations.
