Teachers day of action, 24th November 2009

Description:

The Fédération Syndicale Unitaire, comprising 21 seperate unions mostly concerned with education, has called a one day strike on the 24th November 2009.

 

The federation is encouraging other teacher unions to take part in a day of action to protest against job cuts and changes to working conditions.

 

The strike will also effect research, training and some public departments.

 

For parents worried about possible school closures, the local authorities now have a legal obligation to ensure that certain schools remain open so that the parents can go to work.  Check with individual schools for arrangements being put in place.
