National day of action in France, 22nd October 2009

Description:

The CGT Federation of Public Services has called for a day of action on the 22nd  October 2009.

The federation has a wide membership, covering Education at all levels, Research, Health, Agriculture, Foreign Affairs and more.  If members take part, it will cause serious disruption in many areas of the country.

The main focus is a rally in Paris on the 22^nd, but with support from across the country, other areas are likely to be affected.

In addition, Sud-Rail chose not to take part in the rail strike of 20^th October and decided to support the national action on the 22^nd instead giving another day of rail disruption.

Many other unions may decide to support the day of action, seeing widespread disruption.
