Toulouse launches new Anti-social behaviour phone line

On 5^th October 2009, Toulouse is launching a new service for its residents called the Office de la tranquillité, available by dialling "3101".

The role of the office is to provide the residents of Toulouse a point of contact that is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week, enabling them to report a civil disturbance.  The type of incident they will deal with ranges from problems with noise to any kind of neighbourhood nuisance like litter.

Dial 3101 and an operator will take the details and contact the relevant agency, either immediately if necessary or as required.  The aim is to take a little pressure off the emergency services, which at certain times of the day are swamped with calls.

The service is in no way a substitute for the normal emergency services and any situation that is life threatening or extremely urgent should be directed to the relevant emergency service.
