Events in the Midi-Pyrenees region of South West France this week, 20 August 2010

This weekend is the 111^th Fete de Fleurs (Flower Festival in Bagneres de Luchon.  This years theme is The Wonders of the World, with decorated floats, music from Bandas and military parades by foreign troops.

In the Hautes-Pyrenees, Maubourguet holds its annual Fete this weekend with events for all the family.

For the more athletic, the Three Peaks Marathon event takes place on Saturday at Montcalm, in the Ariege.  Why not go and cheer the competitors on?

For music lovers, there is the Free Rock and Blues Festival at Segoufielle in the Gers department with four bands taking part.

Motor sports fans should head to Cahors in the Lot for the annual Motorcycle Trials event in the city centre.  Held at various locations, with all manner of obstacles for the bikers to attempt to get over cleanly.

Also starting in the Lot department this weekend is the Gindou Film Festival, with 106 separate film showings taking place over the week long festival.
