Final days of Guide2MidiPyrenees featured charity events
Guide2MidiPyrenees has been providing continual updates on two charity events that have passed through the Midi-Pyrenees region and both are now drawing to an end.
Vic’s Big walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research UK has seen Vic Heaney leave his home in Puivert, Aude to walk 2000 kilometres to the place of his birth in Blackpool. That in iiself is quite an achievement, but when you consider that Vic is going to arrive in Blackpool on his 70th birthday after walking for seventy days, it is quite amazing.
He is aiming to raise £7000 for Pancreatic Cancer Research UK and has so far reached 89% percent of that total with £6,261.72. Take a look at Vic’s page in MyGuide2 for all the details of his walk, pictures and how to help with the donations.
Also passing through the Midi-Pyrenees, was Steve Masters, ex Royal Air Force, who is riding the entire Tour de France route three days in advance of the actual event in aid of the Royal British Legion.
Steve is now nearing the end of his ride and looking forward to arriving in Paris. He is not going to receive the huge welcome and police escort of the Tour riders, but it will be a fantastic achievement all the same.
Steve has set himself a target of £5000 and has so far raised £1,463, so please donate if you possibly can on Steve’s Just Giving Page.
