Vic’s Big Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research UK update

Vic set off from Puivert in the Aude department on Saturday, with the goal of walking to his town of birth, Blackpool in aid of Pancreatic Cancer Research UK.  The aim is to take seventy days to walk the 2000 miles and arrive on his 70^th birthday at the house he was born in.

Vic is now on day seven and is walking from Penne to Caylus today.  He is ably supported by Gay, who is driving the motorhome that is going to be their home for the next three months. 

So far they have covered over 200 kms and Vic freely admits that some of the walking has been much harder than he anticipated.  The terrain on some of the GR (Grand Randonnee - footpaths) has been very rough and Vic has encountered more climbs than he expected.
