New Autoroute between Pau and Langdon due to open in 2011
A new section of Autoroute is due to open between Pau and Langdon in the Aquitaine region, which will also give improved access to the Midi-Pyrenees region.
Although not in the Midi-Pyrenees, the new Autoroute could be very useful for residents in the west of the region. Instead of using the A64 / A20 route that takes you to Paris, it makes access to A62 to Bordeaux and then the west coast route to Le Harve and other channel ports much easier.
The route is to be operated by SANEF, who will be responsible for the collection of tolls, maintenance and security patrols. The level of tolls is yet to be released and will obviously have a large affect on the choice of route from the south west of the Midi-Pyrenees.
The route is due to be opened in the first quarter of 2011.
