Description:
British Airways cabin crew have again voted to strike, meaning possible disruption to Toulouse flights in the Midi-Pyrenees.
British Airways staff in the unite Union have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action with nearly eighty percent of those balloted saying yes to industrial action.
The dispute is over the cabin crew pay and conditions, which are some of the best in the industry, but with BA suffering heavy losses, the management insist that the current position cannot continue.
The union must give a weeks notice of any action to be taken, meaning that the earliest a strike could take place is the beginning of March. The union has already said that they will not take action over the important Easter period.
Union boss Len McClusky is hopeful that the dispute can be resolved through negotiation and strike action avoided, but just the threat is having serious implications for BA. Bookings are already down after the cancelled strike over Christmas and this can only prompt more travellers to look to the competition for their travel requirements.
