Description:
Airline disruption in France and the Midi-Pyrenees over school half tem.
Two separate strikes are planned in France over part of the school half term period in February.
The pilots unions UNPL and R-Way/SNPNAC that represent Air France pilots are in dispute with the company over changes to employment terms and the sale of two aircraft without consultation. The strike is due to run between 26th February and the 1st March although Air France has made assurances that passengers will not be affected.
More serious is the threat by French Air Traffic Controllers to strike at the end of February over job losses. The group of unions represented by the Direction générale de l'aviation civile (DGAC) that represent air traffic controllers held a strike during January over the issue.
There are now unconfirmed reports that the DGAC is planning to strike at the end of February, from the 23rd to 27th. This could cause serious disruption over the busy school holiday period in France. There is yet to be an announcement on their website, but as soon as more information is available, it will appear on Guide2MidiPyrenees news.
