Guide 2 Midi-Pyrenees travel update.
British Airways union, Unite, has stated that strike action will not take place over Easter, saving Toulouse airport and the Midi-Pyrenees region from loss of vital tourist trade.
The British Airways union Unite announced today that any strike action will not affect the busy Easter period if the strike ballot taking place next week is in favour of strike action. This will come as a relief to the thousands of travellers using BA and for the Midi-Pyrenees region, those using the Heathrow – Toulouse scheduled flights.
There are a number of alternatives, with easyJet flying to Toulouse from both Gatwick and Bristol and BMI providing a Manchester route. Ryanair have scheduled flights to Pau, Tarbes, Rodez and Carcassonne. For those wanting to fly BA to Toulouse, the advice is to not book until after the ballot next week or choose an alternative airline. Once strike action dates have been announced the other operators flights will quickly become booked up over those periods.
As a precaution, ensure that you have adequate travel and holiday insurance to ensure that if you do get caught up in the strike action, alternative arrangements can be made.
