Micropolis is only fifteen minutes from Millau in the very heart of the Aveyron and at the centre of the Levezou lakes region, a beautiful area set on a 900 metre high plateau with waterfalls, lakes and rolling hills.

With the use of interactive exhibits and with a philosophy to teach, give understanding and enthral the visitor, Micropolis will transport you into the world of insects.  There are eleven individual exhibit areas, spread over 2400m², taking the visitor from "landing" in Micropolis through to being an insect!  Many species are on display in natural habitats and in most areas the visitor can get a very close view of the insects at work.  There is now a view into the insect breeding halls giving a rare insight into this normally closed world, a butterfly greenhouse and an inside view of a living, working beehive.

Micropolis gives a magnificent insight into the world of insects and illustrates their importance in the natural world.

The site has a large terrace restaurant overlooking the town of Saint-Leons and a gift shop.
