Description:
L'Aubrac is a volcanic plateau of the southern Massif Central that straddles three departments in three different regions. Aveyron in the Midi Pyrenees, Cantal in the Auvergne and Lozere in the Languedoc-Roussillon. The highest point is at 1400 m and the area has an average altitude of 1000 m.
There are five Nordic ski areas in the Aubrac area with 155 miles of marked trails linking the resorts and four Alpine areas. All areas offer basic facilities such as a restaurant and equipment hire. Laguiole and Nasbinals also have ski schools.
