Description:

Cauterets is a beautiful old Spa town bordering the Pyrenees National Park and facing Frances highest Pyreneean peak , Vignemale at 3298m.  The village is full of charm and is a well established spa resort attracting visitors all year round.  This is not a purpose built ski resort, but a working village that has a long history.

The resort offers two ski areas, one dedicated to downhill at the Cirque de Lys and the other a little distance from Cauterets at Pont d'Espagne that offers a small number of downhill slopes, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and luge.

The downhill skiing is suited mainly for beginners and intermediates with 25 pistes between 1300m and 2500m. The 36 Km of cross country tracks are in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park in outstanding scenery.

After all the exercise, Cauterets offers a lively apres ski giving you the chance to wind down in one of the many bars and restaurants.

Access the Lys domain using the Lys cable car in the middle of the village which takes twelve minutes or the Courbet cable car 5 km from the village where there is a car park.

Access by driving up to the Puntas car park, 7 Km from Cauterets.  It is a pay and display car park but the fee is reimbursed for skiers or take the shuttle from the village, offering several daily round trips.
