Gorges de la Save, Haute-Garonne, Midi-Pyreneess
The Gorges de la Save is a beautiful area of the Haute-Garonne. The River Save has cut a gorge of around five kilometres leaving vertical cliff faces that have prehistoric caves.
It is a great area for a gentle walk, with the ruins of Chateau de Lespugue within easy reach, and it also remains cool in hot weather. From the cliff edge at the ruins, there are some lovely views into the gorge and the countryside beyond.
