If you want to experience a little more of France on the way to the Midi-Pyrenees, then hop on one of the many cross Channel routes.  If you want to avoid the driving and enjoy a relaxing trip to the South of France, use one of the Spanish routes to Bilbao or Santander.

     Cross Channel ferries between Dover and Calais.

 

Routes from Portsmouth, Poole and Weymouth to the Channel Islands, St-Malo and Cherbourg.

 

 

Routes from Hull to Zeebrugge and Rotterdam, plus Dover – Calais.

 

 

Routes from Newhaven - Dieppe, Portsmouth - Le Harve, Ramsgate - Ostend and Rosslare - Cherbourg, plus the new St Nazaire to Gijon service connecting Northern France to North Spain. Also operates as Transmanche ferries.

 

Services sail from Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth to Cherbourg, Caen, Roscoff, St Malo in France plus Santander and Bilbao in northern Spain.

Stena Line is the largest ferry operator in Europe.  They offer a sailing from Harwich to Hook of Holland across the North Sea plus Irish and Scandinavian sailings.

 

 

  Cross channel train operator between Folkestone and Calais.

 

 

Fast ferry operator on the English Channel between Ramsgate and Boulogne.  The service has not started yet but is due this year
