Midi-Pyrenees holds 118 events for the Night of Museums being held on Saturday May 19.

The Night of the Museums began in 2005 to help strengthen the relationship between museums across Europe and encourage the general public to discover the collections in our museums.

Across Europe, close to 3000 museums of art, history and science will take part in the Night of Museums.  Various events will be held on the night, including exhibitions, theatre, cinema, dance and performing arts.

In France, around 1000 museums take part, with 118 events taking place in Midi-Pyrenees alone.  Access to the museums is free from sunset to approximately 0100 on Sunday morning.
