Romany gypsies being forceably deported from France

Romany Gypsies are being thrown out of France this week.  Should they be sent packing?

I agree that if they have caused trouble, or are trying to commit fraud by claiming benefits they are not entitled to then they will lose their right to stay, but along with the Burqa face veil ban athat is being put through parliment, France is quickly earning a reputation as an intolerant state.

I don't think that reflects well on the vast majority of the French population that are welcoming and friendly.

As an EU member state, the Romanys have the right to be in France as far as I am aware - so is France breaking EU law again?  It won't be the first time and France won't be the only country to have broken EU laws, but what is the point of the EU if member states pick and choose which laws they are going to respect?

What will be the backlash for France, if any?
