Do people really still fall for this con!?!?

I have just received this to my work email address :

Do people really fall for this con-trick still?  I suppose they must do, otherwise the con artist would have given up by now.  Variations of this have been all over the press; if you use social media, people are talking about.

 

Are people so gullible / greedy / stupid  (*delete as reqd) to believe that they have been randomly picked to receive millions of pounds?

 

I really cannot understand it.
