Dodgy anti-smoking campaign in France

Well it seems the advert has been banned, hence tha lack of an image in my orginal post.  Apparently feminist groups and child abuse campaigners took acception to the image.  Not surprising really.

The action group "Non smokers rights" in France has launched a poster campaign to discourage smoking.

The campaign is deliberately shocking and has sparked a barrage of complaints from child protection groups and government members.  The government has vowed to get it banned.

The ads show a man pushing a kneeling child's face towards his crotch. Two feature boys and one a girl. The children look fearfully up at him, holding in their mouth a cigarette that appears to protrude from his fly.

Under the image runs the slogan: "Smoking makes you a slave to tobacco."

















Is the image too shocking or are thes kind of tactics acceptable? 

Personally I think it has gone too far.  The real damage caused by smoking - cancer, early death etc are shocking enough without resorting to sexual ineuendo.
